Livernois and McNichols

5 Stops
Duration: 01:00:00  to  02:00:00
Distance: 2574

One of the city’s most long-awaited and ambitious streetscaping plans is finally nearly done. Livernois Avenue from McNichols to 8 Mile Road, also known as the Avenue of Fashion, is a vibrant showcase of small businesses, restaurants and community-driven partnerships. Former NFL player Ron Bartell’s Kuzzo’s Chicken and Waffles hit the ground running in 2015; just up the road, Love Travels Imports has been an anchor for the block since 2014; Jo’s Gallery is a second-generation Black-woman-owned gallery and frame shop, operating on Livernois since 1996.

Nonprofit Live6 Alliance ties together neighborhood organizations, business owners and city leaders to shape a dynamic stretch of historic Livernois. With input from the Bagley, Fitzgerald, University District and Martin Park neighborhoods, Live6 works to improve economic opportunity and quality of life in the area.
